Eric (and the rest of us) had to survive the Blizzard of the Century on April 6/7 1997 (which immediately preceded the flood of the century.) Here's our street during the height of the storm. Notice the mostly-buried car in the distance, and the two people walking. They are walking because their snowmobile got stuck in front of our house. |

In the winter Eric and his best buddy Stephen both got their first level swimming certificates. Taken at the Kiddie Pool in the Pan-Am Centre. |

Eric got a lot of interesting toys for Christmas this year, including a lot of "train" material. |
Why, you ask, did Eric get all the trains he wanted for Christmas? He asked Santa, of course! |
Found sleeping on the stairs! He only did this twice.... |

At the Forks in Winnipeg on the peak day of the Flood of the Century. Notice the water level behind Eric is mere inches away from the patio level - this is about 18 feet above normal. |

Flying the flag on Canada Day 1997. |

Yes, he really did do it twice. |
